May News

Thai Night, Chicago Palmer House Hilton, May 2

A wonderful educational and entertaining evening of Thai music and dance performance.  Many unique resort and tour suppliers presented new info for invited agents.

Korean Academy of Language & Culture Semester End Party, Normal IL, May 7

Always sad to see the year end, but we had a great time enjoying Korean food, publicly reading our Hangul scripts, and meeting our newest baby member.
Thanks to Agnes Sungjin Kim and Jih Young Chang especially for their patience with all the students.

Korea Night, Sponsored by SITA Tours, KTO, & Asiana Airlines, May 17

Mr. Nicewonger enjoyed delicious Korean food at the Woo Lae Oak restaurant in Arlington Heights, suburban northwest Chicago.  Brad Brennan showed pictures of Korea and his six years of living there--even his wedding.   He taught English in Korea before joining Korea Tourism Organization in Chicago.  Two Korean ladies, that Eugene knew from previous meetings, came from the Los Angeles office of KTO to lead the presentation about traveling to Korea now.  Brad promoted SITA brand tours.  Asiana Airlines' nonstop from Chicago to ICN has been moved from 1:00am departure to Noon!   Eugene even won a colorful Asiana model jet with Korean flag.

Minghin Dim Sum Restaurant, Chinatown, Chicago, May 18 & 19

Days and time spent shopping in Chinatown are always fun.  I like trying new and unusual foods . . . and finding some new favorites!

South & Central American Travel Assn. meeting with American Society of Travel Agents, Chicago IL, May 18

Thanks to all of the tour and travel companies that shared their insights and instruction, and to TAM, TACA, & LAN Airlines.  Also enjoyed the networking with other
high-level travel agents and the students of College of DuPage Travel School.

Springfield Tour with Korean Students, May 13

Enjoyed taking Mr. Han and Mrs. Lee to Springfield, IL where we watched the final steps as a law was passed from the Illinois Senate gallery.  The senator's scoreboard lit up in red and green lights.  We also toured Lincoln's Tomb, the Korean War Memorial, the Illinois State Museum, toured Royell Internet Services in Virden, and the towns of Heyworth and Atlanta.  Atlanta is famous for its Old Route 66 history.
